Two women. One kitchen. Real island flavor.
Kemper's Cafe is a family-owned Caribbean and soul-food kitchen in Atlanta, run by a mother-daughter team — Miss Marlene and Miss Sophia D. Since 2014, they've cooked the food they grew up on: low-and-slow jerk chicken, rich brown-stew oxtails, curry goat, and all the sides that make a plate feel like Sunday dinner.
The word got out. What started as one counter on Metropolitan Parkway grew into a second location on Campbellton Road SW — and a loyal following of regulars who drive across the city for their oxtails.
